Rough Sex Kills

A Zoo Tried to Breed Two Rare Crocodiles . . . But Rough Sex Killed One of Them

I never thought about what it looks like when crocodiles have sex . . . but it wouldn’t surprise me to learn they like it ROUGH. A Dutch zoo learned that the hard way.

The Artis zoo in Amsterdam had a male and female of a rare, endangered crocodile called “false gharial” crocodiles. The zoo wanted to mate them for the sake of the species. They put the two crocodiles together and let the sparks fly.

Unfortunately, the way crocodiles mate involves the male pinning the female down by putting his MOUTH on her NECK.

And when this male did it to the female, he got a little carried away . . . and ended up SUFFOCATING and KILLING her with multiple bite marks around her neck.

There are only 2,500 false gharials left in existence. Or 2,499, I guess.
