AÂ woman who posted a negative Yelp review about a dental visit is now being sued over her comments.
Allison Dore had a bad experience after getting $15,000 worth of dental implants at the B Dental.  She was so upset by her treatment that she went on Yelp and gave the company a one star review, writing, “Terrible Service – Avoid at all costs.â€
B Dental insisted the review be removed and even had their lawyers send her a letter threatening legal action.
Dore was so scared of being sued that she took down the threat, but did note that that was the reason she was removing her review. The company demanded that comment be taken down, which she eventually did. But B. Dental demanded that she never talk about them again, which is when things took a turn for the worse. Allison wouldn’t agree to that because she “felt bullied,†so the company said they were taking her to court, and suing her for over $180,000.
B Dental insists Allison’s review is a lie, and says they’re suing because such false claims puts their business at risk. Yelp isn’t exactly helping out. There are no laws preventing companies from suing over bad reviews, although Yelp does point out those businesses are actually doing more harm then good, bringing “additional unwanted attention to the original criticism.†  Source: The Daily Mail
Somehow IÂ think B Dental is going to regret making such a big deal about this review. A few questions:
Have you ever reviewed anything negatively on Yelp? Did you ever get any feedback from the company you reviewed?
Do you rely on Yelp reviews when making decisions? What do you use it for? Â Restaurants? Doctors?
Have you ever relied on a Yelp review and found your experience completely different from the review?
